Niche Research

Have you been trying to make money online, but haven't seemed to be able to break through? Chances are the problems lie within your niche. The niche you choose plays a key roll in whether or not your website will be successful. A niche is basically the subject, or topic of the website. It is the idea the web pages are built around. For example, a website about ballet, your niche would be ballet. When choosing a niche, you want to make sure of 2 things:
1.) The subject is a popular subject and people are searching for it on the internet. 2.) There aren't too many competing websites built around the same topic. While ballet may be a very popular niche, I can almost guarantee you there are many websites that are trying to get ranked for the very same keywords. The best thing to do when deciding on your website topic is to dig deeper into the root of what you would like your site to be about. For example, instead of a website about ballet, go a little further and build a website about "popular ballet dancers" or "how ballet began" (or something to those effects.) In essence, you would still have a website about ballet, but it will be more targeted to what people are searching for, and the competition wouldn't be as fierce, thus making it easier to get your website ranked with the search engines. (The above examples are just examples, I have no idea if they truly are popular searches or little competition.) Keyword research plays a huge factor in deciding on your niche. You can purchase keyword research tools, or you can use free ones. The one thing you want to remember when picking your topic- don't pick a topic, pick a subtopic on the subject. Instead of broad, be specific. |
